Could This Jaguars Defender Be Headed for a Big Payday This Offseason?
Two NFL insiders believe that one Jacksonville Jaguars defender could do “pretty well” in free agency this upcoming offseason. ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler recently discussed the most intriguing 2026 free agents, and Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd was among those highlighted.
Graziano suggested that Lloyd might hit the open market next offseason, and when he does, he could secure a lucrative deal. Fowler agreed, noting, “The off-ball linebacker market can fluctuate depending on draft depth at the position. Lloyd figures to be one of the successful earners, along with Green Bay’s Quay Walker and a few others.”
ESPN also recently named Lloyd as one of the 25 best available free agents in the 2026 class.
Lloyd has gotten off to a hot start this season. Through six games, he has generated 10 quarterback pressures while maintaining strong run defense. In addition, Lloyd has intercepted four passes—including a pick-six—and earned the AFC Defensive Player of the Month award for September.
However, as Graziano points out, current Jaguars GM James Gladstone was not the one who originally drafted Lloyd. With fellow linebackers Foye Oluokun and Ventrell Miller still under contract through 2026, plus Gladstone investing two draft picks in the position last April by selecting Jack Kiser and Jalen McLeod, the team has several options.
This doesn’t necessarily mean the Jaguars won’t bring Lloyd back, but as Graziano and Fowler emphasize, his return is far from guaranteed—even considering his impressive play this season. Fans will have to wait and see how the offseason unfolds for Devin Lloyd and the Jaguars’ linebacker corps.
