YouTube star Jack Doherty challenged cops to a duel while standing in the middle of a Miami street moments before he was arrested on drug charges Saturday, videos show.
“You think you’re funny? If you’re gonna be funny, get out of the f-king street. I don’t know who the f-k you think you are, bro,” a Miami Beach police officer said to the 22-year-old, according to video posted on TikTok.
Doherty was arrested early Saturday after standing in the middle of a street in Miami Beach. He was found in possession of amphetamines and faces charges for drug possession and resisting an officer.
“I was trying to walk up the street,” a nervous-looking Doherty, who was fiddling with his phone, said as cops cuffed him.
“All you had to do was get on the f-king sidewalk, that’s it,” the officer replied.
Videos show the influencer, who boasts 28 million followers across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, gearing up to film one of his bizarre prank videos. The cops who arrested him appeared to be his target.
“Alright, we challenge you to a duel,” Doherty says in a loud voice to a group of roughly half a dozen police officers, the footage showed.
“Guys, go on the sidewalk,” an officer ordered.
“After we duel, sir,” Doherty replied.
“I’m not gonna tell you again, go on the sidewalk,” the cop repeated.
“Yes, sir, after we duel,” Doherty responded while looking at his phone.
Doherty still refused to get on the sidewalk, and the cops grew increasingly frustrated, warning him one more time, the video showed. While Doherty was still looking at his phone, a cop grabbed his hand and cuffed him.
“Oh! I’m going!” the surprised influencer exclaimed.
“Chill, chill, chill,” he said as the cop cuffed his other hand.
Doherty was booked into Miami-Dade County jail at 8:48 a.m. He described sleeping on a bench in a cell alone “for five hours” before being fingerprinted and getting a mug shot, then “chilling for another five-plus hours,” he said in a video after his release, wearing a shirt featuring said mug shot.
“I was like damn, I’m flying to Dubai in my mind right now,” he recalled before bragging that he “hogged” the phone while he was being held.
Doherty’s arrest comes a year after he totaled his $200,000 McLaren as he apparently texted while driving and livestreaming in Miami.
