Pro-Palestinian Protesters Clash with Police in Milan; Italian Ports Blocked
More than 10 people were arrested in Milan during protests, while around 60 police officers sustained bruises or more serious injuries, according to Italy’s ANSA news agency.
A demonstrator was seen standing in a cloud of tear gas as protesters and police clashed during a demonstration that is part of a nationwide “Let’s Block Everything” protest. The events took place in solidarity with Gaza, with activists also calling for a halt to arms shipments to Israel.
The protests in Milan are part of a broader movement across Italy, where participants have blocked Italian ports in a show of support for Gaza and to demand an end to military support for Israel.
