So for a lot of the Dominican baseball players, baseball’s a way out, and you just try to become a professional baseball player so you can provide for your family,” he added. You can tell by our music and by the way we interact with other humans. The Blue Jays legend pointed out that the Dominicans see it as a pride thing, similar to Canadians and hockey. “Yeah, it was just how I grew up,” he added. “I didn’t know any different, and you put in all your effort into being a good baseball player growing up. And the guys that you could tell, like oh there’s something there, you’re good at it, you just get more serious about it.
