FARGO Even with the first snow and wind whipping throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area on Tuesday evening, Nov. 25, some people braved the cold to keep the holiday spirit high. The Troop 215 Christmas tree lot at Olivet Lutheran Church kept its Christmas lights bright. “You know, the Christmas spirit’s coming,” Eric Tarnow said. Eric and his son, Liam Tarnow, volunteered at the Olivet Troop 215 Christmas tree lot Tuesday night, despite the winter weather. “We’re just trying to sell trees, raising money for the boys. I’ve been doing this for about three years, but it takes a lot of parents, a lot of help,” Eric said. And Tuesday’s snow didn’t make work light during the holiday week. “I was like, ‘Whoa . it’s gonna be really cold out,’” Liam said. But the cheer managed to stay high, even with predictably lower sales. Eric and Liam are Fargo natives, so they’re not new to this, they’re true to this, but Tuesday’s snow was still a bit of a surprise. “I was kind of hoping it was just going to be a dusting of snow today,” Eric said. Their merry motivation, ahead of their “money-making weekend” after Thanksgiving, kept the father-son duo going. As for the reason behind their motivation? That answer is obvious. “I love Christmas. I think everyone loves Christmas,” Eric said.
