The Detroit Lions face a crucial matchup against the Dallas Cowboys this Thursday, but they may be without their primary aerial weapon, Adonai “Amon-Ra” St. Brown.

St. Brown did not practice on Tuesday due to an ankle sprain he sustained during the Lions’ 31-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving. This marks the second consecutive practice he has missed this week.

Speaking to the media backstage, St. Brown hinted at the possibility of missing the upcoming game, despite feeling “better,” as confirmed by both him and Lions head coach Dan Campbell.

“I’m not sure right now, to be honest. Still up in the air. I’m going to try to be out there for my teammates. I couldn’t answer that question right now,” St. Brown said.

While uncertain about his availability, he shared that he was mentally preparing himself as if he were fully healthy. “I’m used to being out there getting actual reps on the practice field, so just making sure I’m in my playbook, know where to line up, adjustments, everything.”

He added, “Everyone thinks it’s just run straight, but that’s the least of my concerns. Can I stop? Can I cut? Can I do all the little movements you don’t even think about when you’re out there?”

Other notable players who did not practice on Tuesday include:

– WR Kalif Raymond (ankle)
– TE Brock Wright (neck)
– TE Shane Zylstra (knee)
– LT Taylor Decker (shoulder/rest)
– RT Penei Sewell (shoulder)
– S Kerby Joseph (knee)

Additionally, some players had limited participation:

– RB Sione Vaki (thumb)
– G Kayode Awosika (foot)
– C Graham Glasgow (knee)
– S Brian Branch (toe/ankle)

Cornerback Terrion Arnold has been shut down for the remainder of the season due to shoulder surgery.

Despite these injuries, Coach Dan Campbell remains optimistic about the team’s postseason hopes and the possibility of clinching a third straight division title. In his press conference, he emphasized the importance of focus and execution:

“It takes every guy that we have doing their job. The margin for error is small, but it’s doable. We can do it. We’ve got to eliminate the things that keep us from winning before we can win the game. Before you start battling against the opponent, you’ve got to stop battling against yourself. I know this: We’ve got to win this one.”

The game against the Cowboys kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video, with additional television coverage available on Fox-affiliated WJBK.
