**U Mobile and Huawei Malaysia Collaborate to Launch Enterprise Innovation Platform for 5G and AI Solutions**

U Mobile, Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) to establish its Enterprise Innovation Platform (EIP). Huawei Malaysia will serve as one of U Mobile’s strategic technology partners in this initiative.

In a joint statement, both parties explained that the EIP will function as a 5G-Advanced (5G-A) and AI innovation lab or sandbox. The platform aims to bring together end-to-end ecosystem partners and technology expertise to drive the adoption and innovation of enterprise use cases leveraging next-generation technologies.

U Mobile will benefit from Huawei Malaysia’s extensive technical expertise and services to design and integrate comprehensive network architectures. This collaboration will facilitate solutions development, pilot projects, and proof-of-concept activities, drawing upon Huawei’s experience in its 5G-to-business, 5G-to-consumer, and 5G-to-home segments.

The partnership will also explore smart monetisation initiatives powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to enhance customer experience. Through the EIP, both companies plan to foster a rich innovation ecosystem by sharing industry knowledge, global best practices, and validated business cases.

Furthermore, they will support startups and early-stage ventures by providing funding, incubation support, and technical enablement. This holistic approach aims to accelerate enterprise 5G adoption and digital transformation in Malaysia.

To promote awareness and collaboration across industries, U Mobile and Huawei Malaysia will organise various programs through the EIP, including technology demonstrations, seminars, exhibitions, roadshows, and digital campaigns.

Woon Ooi Yuen, Chief Technology Officer of U Mobile, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration:
*”We are pleased to partner with Huawei Malaysia as a strategic technology partner to establish our EIP. This will enable the development of localised 5G solutions, pilot projects, and proofs of concept while supporting smart monetisation and ecosystem growth. As Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider, we are committed to accelerating enterprise 5G adoption and digital transformation, enabling businesses to benefit from the latest innovations in next-gen ULTRA5G connectivity and AI, supported by Huawei’s expertise.”*

He added, *”We look forward to forging more collaborations with a variety of partners to ensure the success of EIP.”*

Zac Chow, Deputy CEO of Carrier Business at Huawei Malaysia, highlighted Huawei’s leadership in the sector:
*”Huawei is recognised as a leader in 5G-Advanced, having been named the sole Leader in GlobalData’s 2025 5G RAN: Competitive Landscape Assessment for the seventh consecutive time. This recognises our strengths in 5G-Advanced and AI integration. We are also a global leader in research and development and look forward to leveraging our expertise and ecosystem of partners to support innovation in Malaysia.”*

The MoU signing ceremony took place at the GSMA Digital Nation Summit Kuala Lumpur (ASEAN Edition), held at The Westin Kuala Lumpur. The agreement was signed by Woon Ooi Yuen and Zac Chow. The event was witnessed by notable officials, including Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications; Mohamad Salim Bin Fateh Din, Chairman of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission; Mano Verabathran, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Communications; Kenneth Chang, Deputy CEO of U Mobile; and Simon Sun, CEO of Huawei Malaysia.
