Doug Bowser to retire as President of Nintendo of America

Nintendo has announced that Doug Bowser, who has served as the president of Nintendo of America since 2019, will retire at the end of the year. Bowser originally succeeded Reggie Fils-Aime in 2019 and has been a key figure in the company’s leadership since then.

He will be succeeded by Devon Pritchard, the company’s executive vice president of sales, marketing & communications. Pritchard will make history as the first woman to serve as president of Nintendo of America.

Nintendo revealed Bowser’s upcoming retirement in a filing on the company’s investor relations website. Bowser is set to officially retire on December 31, 2025. Devon Pritchard will take over as President of Nintendo of America on January 1, 2026.

Pritchard has been with Nintendo since 2006 and has played an active executive role since 2021. Both Bowser and Pritchard provided statements regarding the transition. Bowser reflected on his time leading the company, while Pritchard expressed gratitude for Bowser’s mentorship as she prepares to take on her new role.
