Diabolical Drones of Doom Quest Guide – The Outer Worlds 2
When you approach Fairfield on Paradise Island in The Outer Worlds 2, you will hear about the Diabolical Drones of Doom quest. A guard will be seen fighting off a drone and mention that these drones have been acting up, coming into town, and attacking people. This encounter kicks off the quest.
To begin the quest, head to the bounty board in Fairfield. The bounty board is located between the medical building and the constables’ building and looks like a small electronic terminal. Interact with it to accept the Drone Swarm bounty. Make sure to select the Diabolical Drones of Doom quest in your journal so it is actively tracked.
Next, follow the waypoint to find the outpost responsible for producing these deadly drones. When you reach the site, you will see a large metal fence enclosing the outpost. If you notice a very large hill in front of you, do not climb it. Instead, go around the bottom of the hill to reach the base easily at ground level.
As you enter the outpost, prepare for combat. A wave of drones will spawn immediately, followed by two more waves. Defeat all the drones, and once the last wave is cleared, the outpost will be considered secured.
Inside the main gate, on the left side, there is a panel you can use to disable the outpost. To interact with this panel, you need to have Engineering Level 2 or the Manual Reset/Electro-Therapist perks. Using the panel is optional but recommended for extra control over the area.
Finally, return to the bounty board in Fairfield to hand in the bounty and collect your payment. Be sure to complete this step to finish the quest and reap your rewards.
