**Salaries in India Projected to Increase by 9.5% in 2025, Driven by Positive Business Outlook**

Salaries in India are expected to rise by an average of 9.5% in the calendar year 2025, according to a recent survey. This increase is primarily driven by a positive business outlook across several key sectors.

Global professional services firm Aon plc released its **30th Annual Salary Increase and Turnover Survey 2024 and 2025**, highlighting that overall salary growth is projected to be 9.5% in 2025, up slightly from 9.3% in 2024.

### Sector-wise Salary Growth Projections

The survey indicates that engineering, manufacturing, and retail industries are likely to experience double-digit salary increases, with growth expected at 10%. Financial institutions are also set to see significant increments at 9.9%, underscoring the strategic importance employers place on retaining talent in today’s economic environment.

Although the technology sector started the year cautiously, certain areas within tech show optimism. Global Capability Centres and Technology Products and Platforms anticipate salary increases of 9.9% and 9.3%, respectively. On the other hand, Technology Consulting and Services are projected to see slightly lower increments at 8.1%.

### Positive Business Sentiment Amid Global Challenges

“Despite evolving global economic challenges, our study indicates a positive business outlook across several sectors in India. This sentiment continues in many domestically-driven sectors such as manufacturing, life sciences, and retail,” said Roopank Chaudhary, Aon partner and head of reward solutions in India.

The survey emphasizes that organizations aiming to retain talent in a competitive market must stay updated on changing market data and adapt to rapidly evolving compensation trends.

### Declining Attrition Rates Present Opportunities

The study also reveals a downward trend in employee attrition rates, which averaged 16.9% this year, compared to 18.7% in 2023 and 21.4% in 2022.

“The softening in attrition provides businesses a unique opportunity to focus on internal growth, capability building, and driving long-term productivity. By cultivating and developing talent internally, firms can reduce the costs associated with new hires while enhancing their employee value proposition,” added Tarun Sharma, Aon associate director for Talent Solutions in India.
