Originally, Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 3.0 and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition were scheduled for release on January 15, 2026. However, players were pleasantly surprised to wake up on January 14 to find that Nintendo had launched the update a day early!
While the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is available exclusively on the new platform for $5 USD, the free Update 3.0 brings a wealth of new features to players on both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles at no extra cost.
