Already this month, Margot Robbie has launched her new movie *A Big Bold Beautiful Journey* in an Armani naked dress that left nothing to the imagination. Lily Collins attended Calvin Klein’s New York fashion show in a semi-sheer co-ord that showed off her scarily thin midriff. Dakota Johnson, also in New York, arrived at a charity event in a transparent lace Gucci dress.
In 2025, what is the point of all this? Yes, these ladies have great bodies, but why do such successful women feel the need to resort to the most basic ways to grab attention? There’s nothing remotely empowering or stylish about naked dressing. Nor is it progressive — it’s just plunging us back into the Dark Ages.
I’m more interested in indulging in this season’s autumn looks that will keep me both stylish and warm. Such as:
**Sweeping Maxi Coats**
I love a belted full-length coat when the temperature drops. Add knee-high boots, and you have outerwear perfection.
**Opaque Tights**
The best thing about this season? Wearing 40-denier tights — such a simple way to instantly make a dress or skirt more chic.
**Jeans with Turn-Ups**
Cuffed denim is a new micro-trend I can get behind. I recently saw Gwyneth Paltrow at London’s River Cafe in dark denims with large turn-ups, paired with a blazer. Frame and Cos offer some terrific options.
**Blazers with Big Shoulders**
This is a fun silhouette and, teamed with something sleek like a pencil skirt or cigarette jeans, it looks incredibly powerful.
**Faux-Fur Frenzy**
With this glamorous, touchy-feely fabric in your wardrobe, you won’t mind when the temperature dips. Wear it with leather trousers or a midi dress.
**Ornate Details**
Brooches and vintage scarves are having a moment this season.
**Blue Hues**
While not a color normally associated with autumn, both light and dark shades of invigorating blue are big this season.

### Spotted
Actress Katie Holmes dressed in all my favourite autumn tones at New York Fashion Week. Holmes is known for her great designer bags, but the latest luxury carry-all in her collection might surprise you. The star carried a $3,600 duffle from the Atelier collection by athleisure brand Alo. The four-piece line marks its first foray from yoga wear to high-end accessories.
