Alexis Valdés Gutiérrez is a Cuban comedian, playwright, and director. He was born on August 6, 1963, in Havana, Cuba. He graduated in Film Direction from the Film School at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana. Previously, he also completed a degree in engineering. He lived on the island until 1990, after achieving success as an actor and humorist, firmly establishing Cristinito as his signature character. His work in Cuba earned him, among other accolades, the "Award for Best Performance" and the "Grand Popularity Award" (International Monologue Festival, Havana, 1989, 1992). His performances on Sabadazo are considered some of the best in Cuban television variety shows. In 1990, he moved to Spain where he worked in film, theater, and television. During this fruitful phase of his career, he received numerous awards and honors, including the "Premio Sebastíà Guasch" (Barcelona, 1998) and the "Premio Ancla de Oro" (Revelation Humorist, Madrid, 1998). He became a regular on El Club de la Comedia and directed his first film, Un rey en La Habana, in 2005. Currently, he resides in Miami, where he has hosted various television programs such as Esta noche tu night (Mega TV) and Seguro que Yes. In January 2020, he returned to Miami television with El show de Alexis Valdés on Mega TV.
