It’s high school football game week in Augusta.
Everyone is 0-0 and, for many area programs, Friday will be the first step of a marathon to a hopeful state championship opportunity.
For some programs, it’s about taking care of unfinished business from last season. For others, it’s about that crucial step forward to being a state playoff contender. Early-season matchups will serve as a barometer for where these teams stand before we get into the thick of region play.
